About LG Merle

“I consider myself a composer, not a performer.

It is my goal that if even one person feels validated to live authentically, then all the expense, all the hours, and all the risk in releasing this music has been worth it.”

LG Merle (They/Them/She/Her) is a composer and electronic music producer that creates uplifting, original, and evocative music that ranges from upbeat Indie Pop to electronic New Age to full-score Thematic.

She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today LG (or Lore if initials are not something you are accustomed to) resides with her wife in France. For them, the most beautiful sight is diversity, and the most beautiful trait a single person can have is living authentically.

As far back as she can recall, music has always been her mainstay. With an ability to play by ear, and composing since the age of six, you would think it was a no-brainer to prepare for and seek a career in the field, however you would be wrong.

“Music is very personal. It’s a creative means of self-expression that goes deeper and beyond where words alone can go. So, for most of my life, until now really, and with the rarest of exceptions, my music has only ever been by and for me.”

So, what changed? Why is LG Merle now taking the very daring risk of putting her music out there for the masses of the world to hear?

“For many years people have suggested that I do so because my music conveys a message that is increasingly needed in today’s world: That we are all worthy, we are all beautiful, we are all loved just as we are for who we are, that we are enough. It is a message that was taught to me in different settings: at home by my parents, at MCC San Francisco from the mid 1990’s to early 2000’s, and through my time working in outreach on both coasts of the US. And so, with this message, my music becomes so much more than just for me. It becomes music that is for all of us.”
